As is perhaps now traditional, we choose today April 1st to announce the revival of DWA – as whenever we make announcements on April Fools Day some people invariably believe it must be some kind of prank. But, believe it or not as you wish, we have a new album being made available for your listening pleasure…you guessed it, “Resistanz Festival Soundtrack 2023”.
Next weekend, occupying its also by now traditional Easter spot on the calendar, the UK’s Resistanz Festival returns to the Corporation in Sheffield to wreak havoc on hearts and minds, eyes and ears, and most probably wallets and livers.
And no Resistanz would be complete without the definitive accompanying soundtrack album from the festival’s sponsor DWA, featuring a who’s who of the line up – from established artists to rising stars – all tracks as usual being previously unreleased exclusives, this year from HELIX, W.A.S.T.E., BIOMECHANIMAL, WULFBAND, MECHANICAL VEIN x MORIS BLAK, VUXNUT, DARK MACHINE NATION, ANTIBODY, RATIO STRAIN, DWA’s own SERAPHIM SYSTEM and the recorded debut of the enigmatic BLINK 242.
For those lucky enough to be attending the festival itself, a CD limited edition awaits you on the merchandise desk – in digipak and on eye-catching black-based disc – featuring no fewer than 3 additional bonus tracks from RANDOLPH & MORTIMER, HER NOISE IS VIOLENCE and the mysterious “Resistanz Rave Intro” featured live at last year’s festival, none of which have appeared on CD before and in the case of H.N.I.V. is completely exclusive.
Regrettably, as Japan Post continues (knuckle-)dragging its heels over when to allow shipments to our main markets of America, Germany and the UK again, we have reluctantly taken the decision to initially offer the CD limited edition of this album ONLY at Resistanz Festival itself, where of course it may well sell out depending on how many of the festival attendees rank it as the must-have souvenir of the event it rightfully is. However, we anticipate there will be a few left over which can later be sold online as and when international shipping again becomes possible – which we expect in the near-future as scheduled flights return to Japan.
We realise that not being able to buy the CD version online at this time will be both frustrating and disappointing for many of our longstanding and loyal mail order supporters – however we would not feel comfortable selling you something without any clear indication of when we might be able to actually ship it to you, so please just wait for further information. Thank you for your understanding and (as ever) your support.
“Resistanz Festival Soundtrack 2023” is released Friday April 7th via all usual download and streaming stores, which in addition to being both Good Friday and the first day of Resistanz also just happens to be Bandcamp Friday – wouldn’t you just know it.
What better time or way to celebrate the resurrection of your favourite record label…
